YWater is dedicated to empowering young people across India, equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and support to lead impactful change in water conservation, climate action, and gender equality.
Our Story
YWater, like many impactful ventures, began one night as a conversation between three friends—a lawyer, a policy expert, and an academic researcher—who shared a vision of changing the world.
MISSION & HISTORY.
​Established in 2017, YWater is a queer-led, youth-centered organization that emphasizes inclusivity. Since our inception, we’ve mobilized youth to take local action while contributing to global dialogues on climate and water issues. Our workshops with the Global Shapers Mumbai Hub and Teach for India have engaged hundreds of students in water conservation efforts, saving over 100,000 liters of water.

At YWater, our mission is to inspire and equip young people in India to take action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). We believe youth are key drivers of change today, and we’re committed to empowering them to address pressing environmental and social challenges through education, advocacy, and hands-on initiatives.

We also mentor young entrepreneurs, helping them build sustainable solutions through partnerships like Bio-RiiDL and ENACTUS. In the advocacy space, we’ve contributed to global policy discussions with platforms like the UNFCCC and YOUNGO, amplifying youth voices in climate action.
Through our work, YWater continues to empower youth to lead the way toward a more sustainable, equitable future.
